ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I am a poet and a self-taught artist, who believes in art carrying utmost power of changing people’s minds, and inspiring them for action.

As a human of multi-national descent and multicultural heritage, who has had a pretty nomadic life until recently, I do not believe in or advocate for privilege for any group over the other, but rather believe in and would rather fight for equality, justice, and freedom for all, with reverence and respect to culture and the land one happens to live on, be it by birth or by journey.
As a naturalised American citizen of eastern European background, I believe in taking civic stand and artistic action in these turbulent times in order to maintain awareness of the current issues that need facing, such as ongoing and spreading xenophobia, racism, intolerance towards particular ethnic, cultural, and lgbtq groups, reinforcement of conformity and ideologically skewed censorship, - the tendencies supported, propagated, emboldened, and empowered by current administration in charge.
Moreover, I believe that we, overwhelmingly immigrants (in some wave down the line) to this country, owe gratitude and respect to the land that we live on, and people, whose land it was and still is, before it was ours too.

I believe in power of storytelling and raw imagery: in communicating universal through personal, in not holding back and always being blunt and honest in each creative work. I don't believe that hate belongs in art, but neither do filters or niceties. Art is a conductor of love, a tool of enlightenment, and a weapon of resistance.
