This piece is one of (potentially) a series of portraits that was brought to mind by the Nirvana lyric: "It's okay to eat fish 'cause they don't have any feelings", - a glimpse upon those, who feel small, irrelevant, vulnerable, dispensable, and disposable.

Ophelia. Drowning. is a loose auto-reflection, a look back on a particular point in time, when attempting to drown problems and sorrows in alcohol and deliberate avoidance, detachment, and absence. It's an auto-portrait for a particular point in time from the past, which, although deeply personal, might be widely universal.
