This piece is one of (potentially) a series of portraits that was brought to mind by the Nirvana lyric: "It's okay to eat fish 'cause they don't have any feelings", - a glimpse upon those, who feel small, irrelevant, vulnerable, dispensable, and disposable.

Ophelia. Drowning. is a loose auto-reflection, a look back on a particular point in time, when attempting to drown problems, confusions, rages, regrets, and difficulties in alcohol and deliberate avoidance, detachment, and absence. It is a dedication to Charles Bukowsky, and the blue birds that we all try to silence inside our chests. The piece is square in order to allude to the format of a musical album cover, be it a record or CD, to give it a more cinematographic feel, and, potentially, trigger an audible association, in order to make it be perceived partially as a on-the-nose allegory, a pop-culture narrative with its exaggerated symbolism and grotesque reference.
